Henry Shelton Sanford laid out this city on the south shore of Lake Monroe after buying land in 1870. He called it the Gateway City to South Florida. It incorporated in 1877, came through a major fire in 1887, and became the Celery City after the freezes of the 1890s wiped out citrus. Today Sanford is the seat of Seminole County, with 61,051 residents in 2020. MyGarageFloors installs one floor: a full polyaspartic flake system.
Sanford has some of the oldest housing in the metro. The Sanford Residential Historic District holds hundreds of buildings from the city's rail and farming peak, 1880 to the early 1930s. Goldsboro, once its own town, became part of Sanford in 1911. Newer subdivisions add a very different kind of slab. With that range, each garage floor gets judged on its own. A century of patching on one lot and a bare builder slab on the next both end up as the same clean, sealed floor.
Old or new, the slab gets diamond ground first. The grinder removes dirt, paint and worn concrete until the surface is clean and open. We skip acid etching entirely. Sanford floors get standard crack repair, and that matters on older slabs. The full polyaspartic system goes on next, base coat through clear topcoat, and it will not yellow in the sun.
