Windermere has stayed small. John Dawe, an Englishman, founded it in 1887 and named it after a lake in England's Lake District. It incorporated in 1925 and sits on a strip of land between Lake Down and Lake Butler in Orange County. The 2020 census counted 3,030 residents. Most of it is homes, lakes and shade, with a small downtown at the center. MyGarageFloors installs a full polyaspartic flake system, and this little town gives it plenty to handle.
Most roads in the downtown area are still dirt, apart from a few through streets such as parts of Main Street, Sixth Avenue and Second Avenue. That dirt ends up in garages. Homes here sit close to the lakes, and the town grew a bit in 2007 when it annexed Butler Bay. In Windermere, a garage may hold a boat trailer as often as a second car. Either way, the floor under it takes a beating from sand and lake water.
Every floor starts with a diamond grinder, not acid. It takes the slab down to clean concrete with open pores, so the coating has something real to hold. Windermere floors get standard crack repair as part of the job. The full polyaspartic system follows: base coat, flake, and a clear topcoat that will not yellow in the sun.
